John H. Jack, age 76, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 2:38 P.M. on Friday, February 4, 2011, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where he had been a patient since January 25. Mr. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Edon High School. He was an over-the-road truck driver and drove for several trucking firms, retiring from ABF Trucking after a career of over twenty-eight years. He enjoyed working in his yard and taking long walks. John H. Jack was born on February 8, 1934, in Edon, Ohio, the son of Cleo and Donna (Shaffer) Jack. He married Phyllis A. Harman on August 7, 1954, and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Keith Alan (Gabby) Jack, of Fremont, California, two grandsons, Ethan and Andrew Jack, two sisters, Dorothy Berry, of Melbern, Ohio, and Doris Lawter, of Bryan, and four brothers, Denton (Donna) Jack, of Bryan, Leslie (Diane) Jack, of Englewood, Florida, Willis Jack, of Butler, Indiana, and Steve (Donna) Jack, of Mims, Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elroy Jack and Allen Duane Jack. Services for John H. Jack will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Roger Blough officiating. Interment will be in Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
