Ida Mae Hobbs, age 96, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Harrison and West Chester, Ohio, died at 8:20 P.M. on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, where she was a patient following a brief illness. A dear mother and loving grandmother, Mrs. Hobbs was a homemaker and an avid gardener and seamstress. She also enjoyed shopping at garage sales and flea markets. She was awarded a high school diploma from Riverside High School, Lost Creek, Kentucky, in 2007 at age 93. Ida Mae Hobbs was born on January 18, 1914, in Wolfe County, Kentucky, the daughter of Robert and Ada (Wilson) Huff. She married Nat W. Hobbs on November 23, 1936, in Newport, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death in June 2002. Mrs. Hobbs is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Richard) Gieringer, of West Unity, Ohio; one son, Jerry (Judy) Hobbs, of Franklin Tennessee; five grandchildren, Randy Hobbs, Sheila Ciluzzo, Rachel Mills, Katie Bradds and Joe Gieringer; and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were five sisters and one brother. Visitation and service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011, beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Arlington Memorial Garden's Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Mount Healthy, Ohio.
