Irene F. Harrington, age 89, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:27 A.M. on Friday, January 7, 2011, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio, where she was a patient following a brief illness. A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Harrington was self-employed as an independent coordinator with Shaklee Products for thirty-five years. She was also employed at the former Carlin’s Hardware for over ten years. She was a member of West Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Montpelier, Ohio. Irene F. Harrington was born on September 10, 1921, in Defiance County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Emma (Pudliner) Hellemn. She married Harold L. Harrington on June 3, 1944, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Pat Leininger, of Muldrow, Oklahoma; three sons, James (Cathy) Harrington, of Buckley, Washington, Dean (Barbara) Harrington and Russell (Sandra) Harrington, both of Bryan; eight grandchildren, Tami (Joe) Suggs, Todd (Tonya) Harrington, Terry Harrington, Free (Serena) Harrington, Lindsey (Ken) Moffett, Kathryn Carr, Murphy Harrington, and Marilla Harrington; eleven great-grandchildren, Amanda Reeves, Carter and Sadie Harrington, Kayla, Alex, Vanessa and Isaiah Harrington, Elijah and Azariah Harrington, and Ethan and Alex Moffett; and three great-great-grandchildren, Bretton, Taylee and Raelynn Reeves. Also surviving are one sister, Letha (Richard) Wehrle, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and two brothers, Don (Sarah) Hellemn, of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Dale (Alexis) Hellemn, of Hudson, Florida. She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Helemn, one sister, Gladys Ellis, one granddaughter, Cherish Harrington, one daughter-in-law, Carol Harrington, and one son-in-law, Larry Leininger. Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 9, 2011. Services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home with Reverend Tawee Layraman officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, near Bryan. Memorials are requested to West Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice and Home Health, or Community Health Professionals Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
