Iris A. Moore, age 81, of Edon, Ohio, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 4:11 P.M., shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier, Ohio. Mrs. Moore was a 1947 graduate of Metz High School and attended Wayne University College of Cosmetology. She was employed by Lincoln National Life in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and retired in 1984. She had a passion for playing the piano and played up until the day she died. Iris A. Moore was born on February 8, 1929, in Steuben County, Indiana, the daughter of Loren and Carrie (Willoughby) Fisher. She married Raymond E. Moore on August 17, 1984, in Steuben County and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Patricia Kay Bell, of Edgerton, Ohio, Rita A. Mayo, of Hopewell, Virginia, Ruth C. Hart, of Montpelier, Carleen D. (Kevin D. Schwanderer) Mocherman, of Edon, Reid B. (Susie) Mocherman, of Slidell, Louisiana, Cheryl Kay (Harry Hicks) Nofziger, LuAnn (Joe) Jerger, and Wanda Lee (Jerry) Hug, all of Bryan, Ohio, and Philip Ray (Debra) Moore, of Edon. Also surviving are twenty-five grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers, Alvin and Orliss Fisher, and an infant sister. Grave side services for Iris A. Moore will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in the Edon Cemetery with Pastor Jim Hulbert officiating. Memorials are requested to a senior center of the donor’s choice.
