Vesta M. Bowen, age 81, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 11:15 A.M. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in her home after a brief illness. Mrs. Bowen was formerly employed by Knisley Cleaners in Edgerton for many years, Edgerton Metals, and Syncro-Tech, also in Edgerton. In recent years she was a private duty home health care provider for many elderly in the area. She was a member of Trinity Bible Church in Edgerton. Vesta M. Bowen was born on February 5, 1929, near Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Ora J. and Thelma (Weldy) Gipple. She married Roy H. Bowen on February 15, 1947, in Butler, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Wayne) Bowsher, of Edgerton, and Nanette (Steve) Jennings, of Auburn, Indiana, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Cathy Bowen, of Butler, Indiana, four brothers, Eddie, Ronald, Donald and Dennis Gipple, and six sisters, Shirley Gipple, Veronica Yoder, Patsy Gipple, Donna Wasson, Mary Waters and Linda Gipple. She was also preceded in death by one son, Rick "Rocket" Bowen, one grandson, Randy Bowen, her parents and two brothers, Ora, Jr. and Calvin Gipple. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Dennis Kutzner officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice.
